Help Block the sale of WXLV

I have a favor to ask of everyone that listens to my WXLV bluegrass show on Saturdays whether it is on the air on 90.3 FM or online. The college is selling the FM license for the station which will result in my show ending in the near future. You can read about the sale at http://news.radio-online.com/ and type WXLV in the news search box. I believe that the FCC comment period for the WXLV license sale may be ending today. If you have not already written, please take a few minutes to write the FCC at Federal Communications Commission, 445 12th Street SW, Washington, DC 20554 or call them at Phone: 1-888-225-5322 or E-mail them at: fccinfo@fcc.gov and voice your opposition to the sale of WXLV to Four Rivers Community Broadcasting Corporation which is the parent corporation of the Word-FM network. You need to state that the sale is not in the public interest because the Word-FM is already on the air on 3 frequencies in the Lehigh valley, 88.9 from Sellersville 88.7 from Stroudsburg and 103.5 from Allentown. Allowing them a fourth frequency would eliminate an existing community resource while not providing any additional benefit to the community because there is already adequate radio coverage of the Word FM network on their existing frequencies throughout the WXLV coverage area.

Our best hope is that this sale is blocked and a different buyer is found such as another college that will maintain an independent voice in radio instead of another corporate radio giant trying to dominate the airwaves.

Thanks – Mike from the Bluegrass Crossroads Show
